Keith Sockwell is CEO of Cambridge Strategic Services, a firm whose purpose is to design systems of education that are worthy of our students and that advance a free society.

For 40 years Keith has served public education in nearly every capacity, including as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, middle and high school principal, personnel director, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent and superintendent of schools. He served as the legislative liaison for the Texas School Coalition and as a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) legislative committee and has been instrumental in public education’s lobbying efforts on behalf of Texas schoolchildren.

In 2005, Keith retired from public education and accepted an offer from leading school architect firm SHW Group to continue his calling to work on behalf of public education from the private sector. As the firm’s vice president for educational services and governmental relations, he established client superintendent advisory boards for each SHW office to help the firm’s leadership grow through meaningful feedback. He also worked closely with TASA to create the Visioning Institute, a mission-driven forum for many of the state’s leading superintendents to develop a common vision and plan of action for the future of Texas schools.
